Many health professionals believe that babies should be continued on artificial baby milk for at least nine months and even 12 months (and now that the formula companies sell formulas for up to 18 months and even three years, soon some health professionals will be urging mothers to use formula for three years), but at the same time seem to believe that breastmilk and breastfeeding are unnecessary and even harmful if continued longer than six months. Why is the imitation better than the original? Shouldn’t you wonder what this line of reasoning implies? In most of the world, breastfeeding to two or three years of age is common and normal, though, thanks to good marketing of formula, less and less common
Dat overkwam ons dus vorige week donderdag op K&G. De verpleegster was heel tof, vond het heel normaal dat R nog borstvoeding kreeg, maar de dokter trok grote ogen, en dacht er het hare van. Ik overweeg serieus om volgende keer gewoon bij de huisarts langs te gaan.

Mij bekeken ze daar ook alsof ik een alien was toen ze hoorden dat ik op elf maanden nog altijd bv gaf. Ik heb dat hele k&g bij de tweede dan ook links laten liggen en ben gewoon bij mijne huisarts geweest..
Wat klinkt dat bekend! Gelukkig hebben we een goede HA en KA die erg achter bv staan en het normaal vinden dat ik nog altijd voed. En die er ook iets van kennen en goede adviezen geven.

Gewoon langs de neus weg zeggen dat de WHO aanraad tot 6 maand fulltime en liefs tot twee jaar halftime ;-) borstvoeding te geven!
Zelf heb ik echt geen klagen over K&G. Zowel verpleegster als dokter waren steeds laaiend enthousiast als ik zei dat ik nog steeds borstvoeding gaf!
